Forth Environment Link are excited to launch an online version of their Green Christmas Event which has previously run from their Falkirk premises over the last two years. Green Christmas is all about providing an alternative way of enjoying the festive season without costing the earth or our purse strings.
Our event will run online from Monday the 7th of December and will finish up on Sunday the 13th. We will be running sessions across various digital platforms, for updates stay tuned to the FEL Falkirk Facebook Page.
This year in particular is going to feel quite different for us all. Covid will no doubt bring an extra level of anxiety and stress to a time of year that is already stressful for many. Financial pressures, the inability to see loved ones, and the threat of a second lockdown looms heavy over us all. As an environmental and community based charity, we want to bring people together, teach new skills and lift collective spirits by hosting an event that seeks to do just that! This year, we’re focusing on a plastic-free Christmas so we’ll be attempting to source our ingredients for cooking sessions free from plastic, as well as delivering a range of inspiring plastic free gift ideas!
The FEL team are excited to bring a sprinkling of inspiration, a touch of festive cheer, and a helping of utterly delicious festive cooking sessions which the public will be able to access from the comfort of their own homes. Cook along with the family, learn how to make a living wreath or get to grips with homemade zero waste beauty products. We’ll also be inviting our partners to get involved this year, with the likes of Zero Waste Scotland who will be delivering a session on reducing single-use items in the home and CSREC, who will be running a textile upcycling workshop.
We’ll also be bringing you some winter bike maintenance films from our very own active travel project officer - Jodie, helping you stay on the saddle safely this winter as well as much, much more!
Please note; all sessions are FREE of charge but some workshops require pre-booking and we would advise early booking as limited spaces are available. For a full listing of Green Christmas workshops, please use the following link:
